Osaka Castle

大阪城天守閣

Osaka Castle was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1583. The present keep was rebuilt in 1931 from the Edo period keep. On the second floor of the castle, you can take a commemorative photo wearing a helmet and a jinbaori (a ceremonial robe worn by samurai)!
From the observatory on the 8th floor, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Osaka Castle.

Dotonbori

道頓堀

Dotonbori is lined with large, outstanding billboards. It is a must-see area when you come to Osaka. Don Quijote has a Ferris wheel where you can view the bustling town. A 20-minute mini cruise is also recommended to view the city from the river as you proceed through Dotonbori. You'll find delicious aromas coming from all over the place, so find some good eateries!

Tempozan Cruise

天保山渡し船

Kaiyukan

海遊館

Kaiyukan, one of the world's largest aquariums, located in Tempozan, is one of Osaka's most popular tourist facilities. The Pacific Ocean is reproduced in a giant aquarium tank, and 14 tanks are displayed around it. The most popular of all is the whale shark, which stands nearly 12 meters tall, and its twice-daily meal times are also worth seeing.

Sights Information

Umeda Sky Building

This uniquely shaped high-rise complex is located less than a 10-minute walk from Osaka and Umeda stations. The building contains stores, restaurants, a movie theater museum, and other facilities for a full day of fun.The hanging garden is located on the 39th floor above ground with a rooftop open sky deck, offering a 360-degree view of the city.

Abeno Harukas

Abeno Harukas is a complex facility located in front of Tennoji Station. The 58th to 60th floors are used as observation decks. If the weather is fine, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Awaji Island, the Rokko mountain range, and the Ikoma mountain range.

Katsuo-ji Temple

Katsuo-ji Temple, famous as the temple of Darume dolls, is located in Minoh City, about an hour north of Osaka Station, and is known as the god of victory. A huge number of Daruma dolls are dedicated in the precincts of the temple. The temple is a place where you can feel the changing of the seasons, from the cherry blossom season in spring to the fall foliage season in autumn.

Kuromon Market

Known as "Osaka's kitchen," Kuromon Ichiba is a market where locals and professional chefs alike come to stock up, but more recently it has become a popular spot for tourists from Japan and abroad. The market is bustling with fresh seafood, fruits, and an array of food stalls. It is one of the best gourmet streets in Osaka, attracting as many as 23,000 people a day.

Tsuruhashi

Tsuruhashi, a Korean town in Osaka, offers Korean gourmet food, Korean cosmetics, and Korean sweets, making you feel like you are traveling to Korea. There is also a Yakiniku Street lined with Yakiniku restaurants, where you can enjoy authentic Korean food.

Shinike Haniwa Factory Park

This park, located in a high-rise residential area, is the former site of an ancient haniwa factory in Shinike, which has been turned into a park. Come learn about the art of making haniwa while surrounded by restored haniwa!

Expo '70 Commemorative Park

Expo '70 Commemorative Park, the former site of the Expo, is a park that includes the park's symbol, Taro Okamoto's Tower of the Sun, the National Museum of Ethnology, a giant athletic playground for children, a forest aerial observation trail, and a Japanese garden. Opposite the nearest station, there is also a shopping mall, Expo City, and an aquarium, so you can play all day long.
