Sights Information

Mauna Kea

Mauna Kea, the highest mountain in Hawaii, is 4,205 meters high. Astronomical observatories of each country have been built on this mountain because of its stable climate and suitable for astronomical observation. Beautiful sunsets, sunrises and starry sky tours are popular. We recommend a guided tour to the summit. You can also rent a car to the Mauna Kea Visitor Information Station at the entrance to Mauna Kea. There is a lot of information here, drinks and snacks are also sold, and if the weather is nice, you can see the starry sky from here as well.

Punalu’u Black Sand Beach

A sand of black beach is the finely crushed lava. A black sand beach is located in the southern part where takes about 40 minutes south of Volcanoes National Park by car.
The beach is also a habitat for sea turtles (Honu), where you can see sea turtles coming up to the beach to dry their shells.

Coffee Farm

Hawaii is one of the world's leading coffee producing regions. Kona coffee, one of the three largest coffees in the world, is cultivated only in the Kona area on the Big Island of Hawaii and is a very rare and popular coffee. There are hundreds of coffee plantations on the Big Island, and some offer guided Japanese tours and free tours. There are farms where you can experience tasting and roasting, and you can also have a harvest experience tour during the summer to autumn harvest season, so if you like coffee, it may be fun to visit the coffee plantations.

Waikiki Beach

Waikiki Beach is a signature of Hawaii, which is in front of Waikiki's hotels. You can enjoy not only surfing, but also various beach activities, relaxing on the beach. Hit the beach and catch the some rays!

Diamond head

Everyone should have seen it from a hotel in Waikiki once, but in reality, many people have never climbed it. If you take a car or trolley to the trailhead, the hiking trail is as easy as 1.1 km, so you will reach the summit in about 40 minutes. You can enjoy a spectacular view of Kapiolani Park and Waikiki hotels.

Polynesian Culture Center

In a vast space, experience all of Polynesian culture, including traditional dance, music and food. It has full of fun such as a Hawaiian village where you can see the lives of Native Hawaiians at the time, a canoe tour through the lagoon on the premises, a powerful dance performance of more than 100 actors and canoe shows where dancers dance on a large canoe.

Malasada

Malasadas are basically Hawaii’s version of the doughnut. Even though malasadas have Portuguese origins, they have become widely popular in Hawaii. They don’t have a hole and more often than not, they are served plain with no filling, however some have filling such as cream and cheese. Instead of being glazed, they are dusted with sugar.

Pan Cake

Pan cake, which looks cute as well as taste good, is very popular in Hawaii. There are many kind of pan cake such as a famous macadamia nut pancake, coconut griddle cakes, fresh fruits and cream cakes. Find your favorite.

Acai Bowl

The acai berry is one native to the amazon but coveted by those in tropical climates, especially by those in Oahu, Hawaii. Acai bowls are sorbet-textured blends made of a mixture of fruits and juices topped with a variety of fruits, granola and honey.

Shave Ice

Shave ice is an ice-based dessert made by shaving a block of ice. Hawaiian shave ice is traditionally served in a conical paper or plastic cup with multiple flavors which looks very colorful and cute.

Poke Bowlポケボウル(ポケ丼)

A traditional poke bowl consists of white rice topped with raw fish that's been marinated in a blend of sesame oil, soy sauce, green onions and other spices. Poke means "chunk" or "slice" in Hawaiian. Poke is usually made with ahi tuna, however sometimes with octopus or white fishes.

Garlic shrimp

Kahuku, a town on the North Shore in northern Oahu, is lined with shops with shrimp farms. You should stop by during the drive and try it! Your hands will be sticky, but don't worry about it and eat it vigorously!
